So I finally finally booked something real here, after quite the hiatus from work – and by “real” I mean, I booked a nearly-non-paying gig where I still have almost no lines and am not a central character. But dag nabit I said my one line with character-driven gusto and proudly wore my brand new, freshly tailored gray vest (!) as one half of a lesbian couple at a birthday party in a short USC film. Not too shabby.

While I continue to excel at theater, I’m seeing more and more queer female/trans characters in film, and I’m trying to break into that arena with all of my pretty butch might. Slowly it begins.

The cashier at Trader Joe’s tonight said I looked like “I could be someone famous”.  I thanked him and said yes, that was the plan.
